Forklift Operation (LF)
|
Purpose
Current legislation requires operators to be trained and operate a forklift in accordance with AS 2359.2. This course is designed to provide participants with a sound understanding and knowledge required to enable them to operate safely and qualify for a High risk work licence for a forklift.
Pre requisite
There are no pre requisites.
Course Content
The Forklift Training Plan is based on the Unit of Competency within the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF):
TLILIC2001A- Licence to operate a forklift
Legislation in the Workplace - OHS Acts and regulations (Duty of Care), [NOHSC 7019 (1992)] National Guidelines for Occupational Health and Safety Competency Standards for the Operation of Load Shifting Equipment and other types of specified equipment, AS 2359.1 (Jib Attachments) & AS 2359.2 (Requirements, qualifications and training of operators) Plan Work - Lift - truck type and capacity requirements, stability attachments, workplace rules and procedures, workplace hazards and priorities. Lift Truck Operation - Main components of an industrial truck, pre-start/pre-operation checks, data plate identification/interpretation, operating procedures, shift loads. Practical Training - Operate industrial lift - truck after conducting pre-start/pre-operational checks, shift various loads and perform shelf stacking at different heights and load/unload truck, shut down/post operational checks carried out, parking up.
Certification if assessed Competent:
- Statement of Attainment - Nationally recognized Unit of competency: TLILIC2001A Licence to operate a forklift.
- Statement of Attainment is then lodged in person within a 60 day period at the Office of Regulatory Services (WorkSafe ACT). Once application form has been processed the Nationally recognised Licence to perform High Risk Work for Forklift (LF) is issued. Licence is valid for 5 years.

- Industrial Lift Truck (safe/maintained)
- Various Palletized Loads (approx. 50% of machines rated capacity).
- Air-conditioned training room with white board and comfortable for 8 trainees.
