Elevated Work Platform (WP) – Above 11mts

Purpose
This course is designed for participants to gain the necessary skills to plan, prepare and complete Elevating Work Platform work as prescribed by the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work. On completion of this course participants will be able to conduct routine checks; plan work; check controls, operate and shut down elevated work platform.

Pre requisite
There are no pre requisites however the two day course is designed for participants with previous experience in operating elevated work platforms under supervision.

Course Content
The Elevated Work Platform Training Plan is based on the Unit of Competency within the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF):

TLILIC2005A - Licence to operate a boom- type elevating work platform(boom length 11 meters or more) 


Legislation in the Workplace - OHS Acts and regulations, Specific regulations dealing with cranes and AS 2550 Pt. 1 and AS 1418.10 Pt. 10, National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work. - Boom Type Elevating work Platforms Competency Units.
Plan Work - Elevating Work Platform type and reach requirements, job requirements, priorities, Workplace Rules and Procedures, identifying hazards and hazard control measures, communication and emergency procedures.
Boom-Type/Elevating Work Platform Operation - Pre-start/Pre-operation checks, set-up outriggers/stabilizers, Load Chart interpretation, AS 2550.10 - Cranes Safe Use - Elevated Work Platforms.

Certification if assessed Competent:

  • Statement of Attainment - Nationally recognized unit of competency: TLILIC2005A Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 meters or more).

 

  • Statement of Attainment is then lodged in person within a 60 day period at the Office of Regulatory Services (Worksafe ACT). Once application form has been processed the Nationally Recognised Licence to perform High Risk Work for Boom type Elevating Work Platforms (above 11mts) class (WP) is issued. Licence is valid for 5 years. 
    .

$520 per person for 2 day course.
